The flag of Saint Pierre and Miquelon depicts a yellow ship facing the hoist side sailing on yellow lined waves over a dark blue background, with a vertical band on the hoist side divided into three parts, representing settlement by colonists from the Basque Country (top), Brittany, and Normandy. The top part (called ikkurina) is red with a green diagonal cross extending to the corners overlaid by a white cross dividing the rectangle into four sections.
